An attractive shrub with long arching branches carrying racemes of large, scented mid-blue flowers from mid Summer onwards, attracting butterflies in profusion. Oval, dark green foliage falling in Autumn. Ideal as a specimen shrub or for planting at the back of a mixed border.
Suitable for: Best in full sun, tolerates light shade. All soil types except extremely dry. Hardy.
Height and Spread in 10 years: 4m x 4m (13ft x 13ft) (assuming that recommended pruning is carried out, otherwise will grow taller).
Planting: Soak the rootball before planting. Plant in a hole twice the diameter of the pot. Mix an organic soil improver and general fertiliser with the infill soil. Water regularly until established.
Care: Cut back hard annually in early Spring.
