A vigorous, trouble-free climber, with dark green lobed foliage that will cover a sunny wall or fence but can be pruned. Huge flowers with pale lilac petals and navy blue filaments appear between June and October.
Suitable for: Best planted at the base of a sunny or partially shaded wall or fence in well-drained, fertile soil.
Height and Spread: 3m x 3m.
Planting: Soak the rootball before planting. Plant in a hole twice the diameter of the rootball or pot. Mix an organic soil improver and general fertiliser with the infill soil. Water regularly until established.
Care: Thin out any overgrown shoots back to ground level in spring and spur back lateral shoots to 15cm from the main stem.
