Origanum vulgare Oregano.
A perennial herb, native to Europe and the Middle East. The plant has square stems, oval leaves, and purple flowers. As with many herbs the warmer the climate the stronger the flavour.
Suitable for: Plant in well-drained, sunny position. Ideal for tubs and pots.

Care: Water well before planting and until established.
Culinary uses: The leaves are used fresh or dried with spaghetti, pizza and other Italian dishes.
